Who we are
This website is run by World Marketing Associates ("WMA", "we", "us"), PO Box 100, St Austell, Cornwall PL26 6YU, England. We represent professional and consumer audio brands and work with distributors across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
World Marketing Associates Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 16793518. Our registered office is North Lodge, Wells, BA5 3DZ.
We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. We handle it in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies to you, the EU GDPR.
Information we collect
When you contact us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, company, email address, the subject and your message.
Business contacts. We keep contact details for the people we work with at distributors, dealers and brands, such as name, job title, company, work email, phone number and the country or market you cover. This usually comes from you, your employer or public business sources.
When you visit our website. We record which pages are viewed, how long they are viewed for, the website or campaign that referred the visit, the approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your connection, and the type of device, browser and operating system. We do not store your IP address, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics tools.
When you receive our emails. Emails we send to business contacts may include a small tracking image and tracked links. These tell us whether and when an email was opened, which links were clicked, and the device or email program used.
Linking visits to a person. If you arrive on our website by clicking a link in one of our emails, or you send us an enquiry through the contact form, we may link your visit during that browser session to your name and company. This lets us see which pages were of interest so we can follow up with relevant information.
How we use it
- To reply to enquiries and provide the information or services you ask for.
- To manage our relationships with distributors, dealers and brand partners.
- To send business updates, product news and market information to our business contacts, and to understand which of these are useful.
- To understand how our website is used and improve its content.
- To keep our website and systems secure and to filter out automated or abusive traffic.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means.
Our legal basis
We rely on the following lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests: running and promoting our business, answering enquiries, keeping in touch with business contacts, measuring engagement with our emails and website, and keeping our systems secure. We have balanced these interests against your rights and you can object at any time.
- Contract: where we need information to enter into or carry out an agreement with you or your organisation.
- Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information by law.
If you would prefer not to receive business emails from us, or not to have their opens and clicks measured, let us know and we will stop.
International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process information outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. In general:
- Enquiries are kept while we deal with them and for any business relationship that follows.
- Business contact details are kept while we have an active or likely relationship with you or your organisation, and are reviewed regularly.
- Email engagement and website statistics are kept for as long as they are useful for understanding trends, and are then deleted.
Where the law requires us to keep records for longer, we will do so.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and restricting access to authorised staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if a problem arises.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- object to our use of your information, including for business emails and engagement tracking;
- ask for your information in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email info@wma.eu.com. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or, if you are in the EU, your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
